What this site stores in your browser

Nothing. Reel Checkpoint does not set first-party cookies, does not allow third parties to set cookies through our pages, and does not write to local storage, session storage or any similar browser store. There is no consent preference to remember because there is no consent to give.

The pages here are static documents. The small amount of script the site uses does one job — opening and closing the navigation menu on a narrow screen — and it keeps nothing after the page is closed. What we therefore cannot do

• We cannot recognise you on a return visit, or tell a first visit from a hundredth.
• We cannot see which pages an individual reader looked at, or in what order.
• We cannot build an audience segment, retarget you with advertising, or share an identifier with an ad network.
• We cannot A/B test different versions of a page against you. Every reader is served exactly the same page.

Server logs are not cookies

Delivering a web page necessarily involves a request to a server, and our hosting provider records those requests: IP address, timestamp, the file requested and the browser's user-agent string. That is a log, not a cookie — nothing is stored on your device and no identifier is placed in your browser. Logs exist for availability, security and fault diagnosis. What changes when you follow a link to an operator
