Accuracy

Tell us what we have got wrong

This site publishes licence references, company names and dates, which means it publishes things that can be checked — and things that can be checked can be found to be wrong. If you have found one, we want to hear about it.

How to report it

Email editors@reelcheckpointuk.com. There is no form, no ticket number and no separate department — the same people who write these pages read that inbox.

Three things make a report quick to act on:

  • The page. The address of the page, or its title.
  • The wording. Quote the sentence, figure or table cell you are querying, so there is no doubt which one you mean.
  • The source. What should it say instead, and what supports that? For licence details, a link to the relevant entry on the Gambling Commission's register settles most questions in one step.

You do not need to be certain, and you do not need to be an expert. If something looks inconsistent, tell us and we will check it.

What happens next

We check the primary source

Licence claims go back to the public register. Product claims go back to the operator's own published pages. We do not decide a correction by comparing our page with someone else's.

We fix, or we explain

If the page is wrong, it gets changed. If it is right and the confusion came from how it was written, we usually rewrite it anyway — that is still a fault worth fixing. If we disagree, we will tell you why rather than go quiet.

The page shows it was revisited

Any page we change carries an updated review date, so the date always reflects a real check. Where a material fact changed — a licensee, a licence reference, a regulatory entry — we note what it now says rather than editing the record silently.

We look for the same mistake elsewhere

An error in one licence field usually means the same detail is repeated on another page. A correction is not finished until the comparison table, the operator entry and any reference to it agree with each other.

Facts, opinions and things that have simply changed

A factual error
A wrong licence reference, a misspelled licensee, an incorrect date, a broken or mistargeted link, a figure that does not match its source. These get corrected.
Something that has changed since we checked
Licences are varied, companies are renamed, domains move, settlements are published. That is not an error on our part but it does make the page out of date, and it is treated with the same priority.
An editorial judgement you disagree with
The verdict lines are opinion, and we are not going to swap one for a more flattering one on request. We will look again at whether the verified facts on the page actually support the verdict, and if they do not, the verdict changes. If they do, we will say so and explain the reasoning.
A request to remove unflattering but accurate information
Published regulatory outcomes stay on the page. They are a matter of public record and removing them because an operator would prefer them gone is exactly the behaviour this site exists to avoid.

Operators and their representatives

Use the same address. Notice of a change to a licensed company name, a licence reference or a registered domain is genuinely useful and will be acted on once it is confirmed against the register. Please send the evidence rather than the request — a link to the register entry or to the relevant page on your own site is worth more than an assurance, and it means the change can be made the same day it is read.

Things this page cannot fix

We have no access to any operator's systems, so a problem with an account, a withdrawal, a bonus or a game result is not something a correction to this site can resolve. Those go to the operator, whose licensed company is named beside it on our comparison, and then to the operator's own complaints procedure. The contact page sets out the other routes available, including where to find independent dispute resolution.

If gambling itself is the problem rather than something we have written, please contact GamCare's National Gambling Helpline free on 0808 8020 133 instead of waiting on an email from us.

Priority

Corrections are read before commercial email and answered before anything else. Accuracy is the only thing this site really has to offer.

Check us first

Search the operator's web address on the Gambling Commission's business register. If what it says differs from what we say, we are the ones who are wrong.
