Privacy policy
This site is deliberately simple, and so is this policy. Reel Checkpoint has no accounts, no forms, no advertising network and no analytics, so almost the only personal information we ever hold is an email you choose to send us.

Who is responsible for this site
Reel Checkpoint publishes this website at reelcheckpointuk.com and is responsible as data controller for the personal information described in this policy. All privacy enquiries, including requests to exercise the rights set out below, should go to editors@reelcheckpointuk.com. This policy is written for readers in the United Kingdom and reflects UK data protection law.
What this site does not do
It is quicker to start with what is absent, because most of the privacy questions people have about a comparison site do not apply here.
- No accounts, logins or profiles. There is nothing here to register for.
- No cookies. This site does not set any, essential or otherwise, which is why you are not being asked to consent to any. See the cookie policy for the detail.
- No analytics, no tag manager, no visitor tracking, no session recording and no heatmaps.
- No advertising network, no retargeting pixels and no social media tracking scripts.
- No contact forms, newsletters or mailing lists, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
- No third-party fonts, embedded videos, maps or chat widgets. The typefaces and images used here are served from this site's own domain, so loading a page does not tell any other company that you visited.
- No payment processing of any kind. This site never handles money.
Information we do handle
Email you send us
If you write to the address above, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to read and answer your enquiry, and to keep a record of corrections we have been asked to make. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running an accurate, contactable publication.
Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for that purpose — typically no more than twelve months for a general enquiry. Where an email leads to a published correction, we may keep a note of the substance of it for longer as part of the editorial record, but we do not need your contact details for that and will not keep them for that reason.
Server logs
Like any website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider, which records technical information about requests to the site: the IP address the request came from, the time, the page or file requested, the response, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site available and secure and to diagnose faults. They are not used to build a profile of you, they are not combined with anything else, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers from them. Our hosting provider acts as a processor on our behalf and retains logs on a short rolling basis under its own terms.
What happens when you follow a link to an operator
Outbound links to casino operators are commercial links, and some carry parameters that identify Reel Checkpoint as the source of the visit. Those parameters describe us, not you: they contain no identifier for you, and we do not add one.
Once you follow the link, you are on that operator's website and this policy no longer applies. The operator will set its own cookies, run its own tracking and collect its own personal data under its own privacy policy, and it may report anonymised or aggregated figures back to us — for example that a certain number of accounts were opened. We do not receive your name, your email address, your account details or your gambling activity from any operator. We hold no information about anything you do after you leave this site.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. The only routine recipient is the hosting provider described above. We would disclose information if we were legally required to do so, and only to the extent required.
International transfers
Email and hosting services used to run this site may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, it is done under the safeguards required by UK data protection law for international transfers.
Children
This site covers a subject restricted to adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and its content is not designed to appeal to children or young people. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to you in a portable form where that applies. You can also object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests.
Write to editors@reelcheckpointuk.com and we will respond within the statutory period. In practice, for most readers the answer will be that the only thing we hold is the email you sent us. There is no charge for making a request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.
Changes to this policy
If the way this site works changes — if analytics were ever added, for instance — this policy would be updated before the change went live, and the review date at the top would change with it. We do not backdate or quietly amend it.
The short version
No cookies, no tracking, no accounts. If you email us we hold that email. Server logs exist because a website has to be served. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
